Decir (to say)

Yo dec - í a (I was saying); tú dec - í as (you were saying); el/ella december - í a (he/she was saying); nosotros december - í amos (people were saying); vosotros dec - í ais (were you to saying) and ellos/ellas december - í an (they were saying)

You can find two exceptions to the regular pattern of the imperfect tense plus they are the important verbs ' ser ' (to become) and ' ir ' (to travel) which will both need learning independently and are conjugated as follows;

Ser (to be)

The Preterite Tense

Enviar (to send)

Years old envi - é (As i sent); tú envi - aste (people sent); el/ella envi : ó (he/she sent); nosotros envi - amos (we sent); vosotros envi : asteis (you sent) and ellos/ellas envi : aron (these people sent)
But, to give my EFL British students some practice in writing the forms of regular verbs in past together with especially in pronouncing these, I came up with a couple of shorts using only that form. They're harder to read and pronounce than "normal", but the intensive practice looks like it's quite helpful. So, I continue to have tried it even though I fully understand this speech pattern don't occur in natural British speech.

Since my learners are all from a Spanish-speaking country in South america, Colombia, they typically exhibit a problem in pronouncing the -ed verb ending in its several forms. I'd noticed the same propensity towards pronunciation problems with -ed regular verb endings with other Spanish-speaking areas, so i prepared exercises to assistance with this early on. Students in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Panama and Ecuador have all benefited from these simple "stories" Hopefully that perhaps your EFL and ESL students will too.

TEFL Learners can read the story paragraphs aloud, concentrating on the correct pronunciation in the verb ending forms. They can fill-in the blanked out endings in the paragraph to practice adding -ed or only -d as required. Also they'll practice with when to swap "y" to an "i" just before adding -ed. For example, Play becomes played, and stay becomes stayed, but try and cry become tried or cried. The stories could be cut into strips together with re-ordered, acted out as a "skit", pantomimed, or several written exercises and comprehension activities may be added. As an added feature, I boldface the verbs in the paragraphs.

Many weeks, we'd start a loaf on Friday and by Saturday, it was gone. French toast made out of challah is just wonderful.

We have made our own challah and we've invested in challah at both shops and bakeries.

If you happen to make your own challah, you can knead by hand and to rise, or you may use a bread machine. We've tried many different challah recipes. We do have our favorite but several of them are generally very good.

There are also a few stores which challah that we just about all like.

I'd love to share a French bread toasted casserole recipe that uses one full loaf involving challah.

The french language Toast Casserole

1 loaf involving challah
1 cup of milk (whole milk or half and half successful)
(but if the challah is large add additional liquid on the recipe)
¾ mug brown sugar
8 offspring
1 tablespoon vanilla
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Sodium to taste

Slice the challah into 1 ½ " thick slices. Place in the bottom of a casserole dish. Tear the bread as required to fit into the casserole meal. Mix together the remaining ingredients. Pour over your casserole, cover and store in refrigerator instantly.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 45 min's.

I have witnessed both ginger and nutmeg utilised in French toast casserole recipes. If you like those flavors, you can add ½ teaspoon of nutmeg and ¼ teaspoon ground ginger. Both will add additional flavor on the casserole.
